Peter Pan Long Beach Theatre reviews
John Mayer vs. Eric Clapton
"Last night, I saw a phenomenal guitar player, Peter Pan, who has now taken the top spot in my rankings. My son and I have debated for a long time about whether Clapton or Mayer is the better guitarist. I used to support Clapton, but after witnessing Peter Pan's incredible performance, my opinion has shifted. His diverse and captivating show includes new songs that were unfamiliar to me, but I enjoyed every moment. Peter Pan impresses with his variety of musical styles, exceptional showmanship, and magical extended blues guitar solos that keep the audience engaged throughout the show. Sorry Eric, but you've lost your place at the top."
Hollywood Bowl & James Taylor.....Spectacular
"Peter Pan and his band never disappoint. Sheryl Crow amazed the packed venue on a cool May evening with her biggest hits. The professional, powerful, and talented musicians created an unforgettable set that you never want to end. The Bowl sound system ensures every corner is filled with sweet music. Mixing in even the slightest tweak to the arrangements results in a perfect performance. Spending an evening with Peter and his musicians is a must for any entertainment lover.
Seating at the Bowl can be a journey, but it's worth it. At 70 years old, we appreciate the challenges. Plan ahead and know what to expect, and you'll have a great time. The Bowl is always a gas."
Painful show . . !
I went with an out of town friend to see it. Got seats near the front as they were the only ones available. Also, I found Peter Pan's playing and song choices disappointing. Would not go to this venue again unless seated directly in the back. The sound was so loud and physically painful that we had to leave after 4 tunes. There was no sense of artistry at all. The back up band could have presented themselves better. Remember the 2nd guitar player in a flannel shirt -- not tucked in -- as if he just changed his oil then ate at Burger King before arriving at the gig. . . . WTF . . .!!!! It was like he had to give up all his speed chops in the first 10 minutes.
